About Pathfinders
The Pathfinder Club meets every Wednesday night, at 6:30 PM, in the Fellowship Hall. Membership is open to all young people, ranging from 5th grade through 12th grade. We invite and encourage young people of all religious persuasions to join our club. Pathfinders learn the value of being a "scout" for God. Activities are structured to encourage personal development and spiritual fitness, while training in the responsibilities of becoming responsible citizens. Above all, Pathfinders fosters various opportunities to build character based on Christian principles.
Each Pathfinder receives individual instruction in Bible Studies and Christian Youth Activities. Members are encouraged to attend Honor's Classes, in which they learn new skills, such as:
• Knot-tying
• Model Rocketry
• Kite Making
• Candle Making
• Cake Decorating, etc.
For every class successfully completed, each Pathfinder receives a merit patch that attests to his or her skill in that particular subject (Honor). In general, Honors classes are designed to be both fun and educational.
Throughout the calendar year, Pathfinders attend Camporees, where they can learn camping and survival skills, as well as participate in social activities and games. In addition to camping trips, Pathfinders also participate in other special events, including:
• River-rafting Trip
• Thanksgiving Food Drive
• Mission Trip (usually, at Christmas)
• Honor Fair (Pathfinders earn an Honor in one day)
• Kite Day
• Teen River Trip
• The Annual Pathfinder Fair in Riverside, California.
